Independence
How StackRatings is funded, what can never be bought, and the rules for anything we might add later.
Ratings are not for sale
Community ratings and evidence levels are never for sale. No brand can pay to have a supplement added, ranked, featured or removed. Scores come only from the published formula on the About page, and evidence levels only from published human studies.
No money from supplement makers
We don't sell supplements. We don't accept money, free products or sponsorship from supplement makers.
What the site has today
Today StackRatings has no affiliate links, no sponsors and no ads.
If we ever add paid offerings
If we ever add paid offerings, such as a membership, guides or audits, safety information stays free: interactions, upper limits and who should avoid a supplement.
If we ever add shop links
If we ever add links to shops, these rules apply:
- Every such link is labelled "paid link".
- Products are chosen by form (for example, which form of magnesium) before any commission is checked.
- Paid links are never shown next to ratings.
- We announce the change in advance.
Open data
The raw community data stays free under CC BY 4.0: /data.csv and /stacks.csv. See the data license.
Where the money comes from
Once a year we publish where the money came from.
Who writes it
StackRatings is written by Nerd Protocols, a clinical and sports dietitian based in the EU. The ratings come from the community.
